2012 Invasive Species Conference

Join federal, state, tribal and local government agencies; academic institutions; non-profit organizations; industry leaders; legislators; and others in developing regional strategies to address the threat of invasive species to our natural resources, economy, and quality of life.


The 2012 conference will address:
  • The economic impact of invasive species
  • Changing Behavior: Best practices in outreach and marketing
  • Networking for prevention: The Fiesta Boat case study
  • Emerging invasive species issues in the region
  • The PNWER invasive species council: A region-wide approach

The full-day conference will be followed by an optional tour the next day, highlighting invasive species control projects in the region, including:
  • Tour of European buckthorn infestation
  • Using goat and sheep grazing in the control of invasive species
  • Eradication of flowering rush through volunteer efforts
