The Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) is the only regional planning and facilitation organization set up in statute by the border states and provinces to deal with transboundary policy and planning in the Pacific Northwest.

With over 20 million people and over US $700 billion in gross regional product, the US Pacific Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington) and Western Canada (Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon) is one of fastest growing regions of North America. We are China and East Asia’s gateway to North America, the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics and the site of several major infrastructure projects and business opportunities. Now more than ever, the Pacific Northwest needs a bi-national, regional advocate that works with both the public and private sectors. |

PNWER delivers results on regional issues through action plans developed by more than fourteen working groups corresponding to the region’s key priorities. Each working group is co-chaired by an industry leader and legislator. Founded in 1991, PNWER is the only statutory, non-partisan, non-profit, bi-national, public/private partnership in North America. PNWER is the forum for collaborative bi-national planning involving both the public and private sectors and offers leadership at the state/provincial level in Salem, Olympia, Boise, Helena, Juneau, Edmonton, Victoria and Whitehorse, and at the national level in Washington, DC and Ottawa. |

The See Alaska Pass, offered by the Alaska Marine Highway System, is the first portion of the NorPass pilot project currently available for purchase and valid for travel May 1 – September 30, 2008 for a discounted price of $160 at a 25% savings.
The See Alaska Pass is designed to be a single purchase ticket that provides a convenient and flexible travel option for tourists planning an adventurous trip in Alaska. Travelers utilizing the See Alaska Pass can stop and stay in Inside Passage Communities along the way, catching another vessel in route to their final destination.
The vision for the NorPass is that tourists will be able to start their trip in Seattle and travel north using various modes of transportation, stopping at intersecting ports at their discretion, being as economical or luxurious as they would like.
