Transportation Policy Tour

Legislative Transportation Institute Policy Tour, Friday, November 18 - Victoria Shipyards in Esquimalt, B.C.

The Victoria Shipyards undertakes new construction, conversion, refit, repair, life-cycle maintenance and refurbishment projects on naval and commercial vessels including cruiseship conversions, work on deepsea vessels and containerships. Utilizing the Esquimalt Graving Dock, owned and operated by Public Works and Government Services of Canada, Victoria Shipyards can dry-dock and repair vessels up to 100,000 DWT. Major refitting of cruise ships is a healthy business and the shipyard recently undertook a refit project for an Alaska bound cruise ship. 

Please note that tour participants must have the proper footwear for admission to the shipyard. Open-toed shoes or shoes with heels  are prohibited in the shipyard. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommend . All participants will be issued hard hats and safety glasses for the duration of the tour.
